Employee Recognition - Betty Wellman

If you have called or stopped into the lab, you have probably talked to Betty. Betty has been with Brookside for over 40 years and is the first smiling face you will see when you walk through our doors. Betty started in data entry and now she is an administrative assistant. One of her favorite things about being employed at Brookside Laboratories is that she has the opportunity to meet a lot of different people – my fellow employees, consultants, and a lot of direct clients also.  In her free time, Betty likes to walk/run, crochet, and read.  She has participated in many 5k’s and also the “Finish on the 50” at Ohio State. Betty enjoys most all sports and is a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan along with the Bowling Green Falcons, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dayton Dragons, and Ft. Wayne Komets, just to name a few.  Betty was also involved in lumberjacking sports and placed in the Ohio Jack and Jill Crosscut sawing competition and the axe throwing competition.  She is a “decent” trapshooter and comes from a long line of trapshooting hall-of-famers. Betty has been a blood donor for many years and is working on her 21 gallons.  Betty has been married for 28 years and she and her husband have a cat. Betty and her husband live in the country and have a licensed pheasant hunting preserve right behind their house. We love having Betty here at Brookside. Her perky attitude and silly jokes keep the atmosphere light-hearted and fun!
