Horacio Lopez Nicora

Dr. Horacio Lopez-Nicora is an Assistant Professor of Soybean Pathology and Nematology in the Department of Plant Pathology at The Ohio State University. Originally from Paraguay, he earned degrees in agronomy, crop science, plant pathology, and applied statistics before joining Ohio State in 2021. His research focuses on soybean cyst nematode, soilborne diseases, and the interactions between pathogens, crops, and the environment. Through an interdisciplinary approach that combines plant pathology, nematology, epidemiology, and statistics, Dr. Lopez-Nicora is developing practical, science-based strategies to improve soybean health and help growers protect yield and profitability.
